SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. General information

The journal «Herald of the Voronezh state University» will accept for publication any material that contains the results of original research, in the form of full papers, short communications, and reviews (in consultation with the editorial Board). Published materials as well as materials submitted for publication in other journals will not be accepted.

Full papers are accepted up to 20 pages of the manuscript and to 6 figures, a brief article – up to 5 pages and 4 figures.

Articles should be written concisely, neatly decorated and carefully edited.

To publish an article authors should submit the following materials to the editors and documents:

1) the text of the article, in accordance with the following requirements, signed by all authors, UDC, tables, figures and captions (in 2 copies);

2) article title, abstract, keywords, initials and surname of the author, place of work – in Russian and English languages (2 copies);

3) files of all submitted materials on electronic media or by e-mail edition;

4) Information about the authors: their position, academic degree, telephone number and e-mail (in Russian and English).

The articles submitted to the journal is peer-reviewed and in the case of a positive review – scientific editing.

The article directed to the authors for revision should be returned in the revised form (2 copies) together with its original version in a very short time. The revised manuscript should be accompanied by a letter from the authors, contains responses to all comments and explaining all the changes made to the article. Manuscripts retained for a period of three months or requiring recycling is regarded as a new submission.

The publication of accepted manuscripts is free.

2. Style sheet

Publication of full papers, short communications and reviews starts with UDC index, followed by the article title, initials and surnames of authors, expanded names of academic institutions. The following is the date of receipt to the editor, then brief summaries and keywords – in Russian and English languages.

The editorial Board encourages the authors to structure presenting the material using subheadings: INTRODUCTION, EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION, REFERENCES.

At the end of the article is placed information about the authors (place of work, name, initials, title, contact details – in Russian, English).

3. Specifications and requirements for formatting and styling the paper

Manuscripts must be typed and a half spaced on white A4 paper, with margins of 2.5 cm on the left side, font size – 14 pt (Times New Roman). All pages of the manuscript, including references, tables, figure captions, figures should be numbered.

Each table should have a thematic title. Equations, figures, tables and references are numbered in the order they appear in the text. Figures supplied loose (2 copies). Format Picture should provide clarity of all details. Inscriptions in the figures are given in Russian; dimension values on the coordinate axes are usually separated by commas (for example, U, B; t, s). Caption should be self-sufficient, without appealing to the text. On the reverse side of the drawing should indicate its number, name of the first author, to mark if you want the "top" and "bottom".

Grayscale images (used only when absolutely necessary) are presented on white glossy paper (2  copies.), photocopies are not accepted. Link to the literature is given in the text of the figure in brackets. References cited in the tables or figure caption, it is given a serial number corresponding to the location of the material in the text. References to unpublished works are not allowed.

References made in accordance with GOST 7.1-2003 Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description, links are arranged in order of citation.

Greek letters in the text should be underlined in red pencil, the letters of the Latin cursive mark in the margin. To avoid errors, you need to clearly identify uppercase and lowercase letters of the Latin, Russian and Greek alphabets having similar mark (C, C, K, k; P, P, O, O; S, s; U, u; V, V, etc. etc.), the letter I (i) and J (j), the letter I and the Roman unit I, as well as the Arabic numeral 1, the vertical bar | bar and in the indices (a1, a '), the Latin l (el) and e (not al). Capital letters are underlined in pencil bottom two lines, and lower – on top.

Chemical and mathematical formulas and symbols in the text should be written clearly. It is necessary to avoid bulky designations using, for example, fractional exponents instead of roots and exp – for the exponential dependence. The chemical compounds should be numbered in Roman numerals, mathematical equations – Arabic. Decimal numbers separated by a dot. Chemical formulas and nomenclature should be deprived of ambiguity.

4. Requirements for formatting the electronic file

The electronic version must include: a file containing the text of the article and illustration, and files containing illustrations. Manuscripts must be typed font Times New Roman, font size 14 minutes, 1.5 line spacing.

The set of files must be accompanied by an inventory (possibly in the form of a file) with the name and version of the text editor, file name, title of article, name and initials. The main text of the article should be submitted in the format of Microsoft Word (for a series “physics, mathematics” can be used Editors TeX, LaTeX) with the exact version of the editor.

In the preparation of graphics formats, it is desirable to use the TIFF, JPEG, BMP, WMF.

In the preparation of files in raster format is desirable to adhere the following requirements: for scanning line art 300 dpi (dots per inch); for scanning halftone drawings and photographs of at least 200 dpi (dots per inch). Graphic files should be named in such a way that it is clear to which paper they belong and how the order of drawing paper they are. Each file should contain a single drawing.

Tables are part of the text and should not be created as graphics.
